Peter wrote his first book back in 1988. Called 'Improve Your Windsurfing' it immediatey became a best seller and you'll still find copies advertised on Amazon and ebay. In 1991 he followed it up with an entry level book called 'Windsurfing in a Week.' And that, as far books were concerned, was that .. or so he reckoned.
"It gives you a warm feeling to see yourself in print but in all honesty, the pain and toil of writing a book far outweighs the pleasure and the financial reward. Publishers, god bless 'em, offer you a pitance for specialised publications and they're a heap of work. By the time you've written the main copy, you're about half way there. You then have to choose and caption the photos, do the diagrams, write the index, the glossary etc etc - it's a nightmare."
In the 10 years since 'Windsurfing in a Week' Peter obviously forgot about the pain as in Jan 05 his latest offering 'Windsurfing' was published, ' by Crowood Press.
"Yes I don't know what happened! The nice lady from Crowood Press was so persuasive. A lot of people had suggested I write another book, there was a need for one so I relented. It wasn't so bad, the designers did a great job with it and I'm really happy the way it's turned out."
