FAMILY MAN

In March of 2004, after a three year courtship, Peter married Annette. Annette is from the east coast of the US near Philadelphia but they met in Maui - where else?

"It sounds corny but 'Netty' booked onto a clinic I was running out there. Sparks flew immediately but professional discretion stopped us taking it any further during that trip. Actually it was amazing she stuck around at all. She was the only American in a group of Brits which included Dave White and his very coarse brand of Essex humour. To her utmost credit she mucked in and got the joke. We stayed in touch. Later that year, totally hooked on windsurfing, she gave up her corporate job (she's a pharmacist) and moved to Maui on a 'sabbatical'. We met again on the island the following winter while I was filming 'Serious About Waves' and that, as they say, was that"

Goodness knows what line he spun but Peter somehow managed to persuade Netty to leave Maui and come and live with him on the Sussex coast. Actually it's a match made in heaven. Her time in Maui combined with a natural athleticism has turned her into a great windsurfer and therefore a real help on Peter's clinics.

That role is temprarily on hold because just a year after tying the knot, Netty gave birth to a baby boy called 'Mondo'. Just 16 monts later he was joined by a wee girl called Lola. Peter has since intimated that all he wants for Christmas is a pair of scissors. Netty has made it quite clear that beach child care will have to be shared 50 50!
