GYBE!
West Wittering
- 4th May 2010

The carve gybe remains the Holy Grail - but the reason it eludes so many is that they can't nail a gybe of any sort.
In this course we look at the gybe in its many forms and above focus on those key elements that mess up all gybes, how you address the rig, the timing, the rig and foot change. ALL OF WHICH CAN BE PRACTISED IN LIGHT WINDS as well STRONG.

Prepare to have your stance, set-up and general approach to windsurfing remoulded in
the nicest possible way

The course
Over the day time will be shared between dry land sessions, on water practice and video playback and analysis.
Exact timings will depend on the tide and the wind.
The course will go ahead whatvever the wind.

Where
West Wittering lies at the end of the A286 some 6 miles south of Chichester on the Sussex coast.
It's a beautifully beach offering a huge range of conditions to delight all standards.

The Club
The WW club and beach set-up is the envy of the south coast. It sits within an immense swathe of undeveloped coastal plane.
You rig up on grass. The clubhouse has tea cofee, wi-fi and classy piping hot showers.

The sailing area
The appeal of the sailing area is that it offers everything to everbody at different states of tide.
At low water, the sea retrets behind a sand bar to leave a silky smooth, waist-deep 'gybe-atorium.'
As the tide pushes, waves break on the banks and the more accomplished can strut their aerial stuff.
