THE COURSE - What it's all about?
We look at all aspects of wave-sailing. The kit, the set-ups, the tactics, launching, jumping, up and downwind riding and how to survive in the surf. The course is limited to 12 sailors so, as is usual on a PH clinic, it's all about personal attention. You set your own agenda and as much as we can, we work on it one to one.

Suggested standard
It's the open ocean so you need to be a 100% waterstarter, able to sail a 100 litre board on the plane up and downwind AND, very importanty, be a confident swimmer (on top of ... an under the water!).
KIT
Bring your own. Ideally you need a 100-115 litre cross over board that planes in a force 4 and on whcih you can 'bog' out if the wind is light but the swell is up. And also a proper wave board. You never know what the wind will do in Tiree so bring the lot 6.5 down to 4.0.
ACCOMMODATION
We have arranged a cracking deal with the Hynish Centre. It's a beautiful converted mill right on the water's edge. It's dry and warm with a spacious living room ideal for video playback and a table tennis room. There's stacks of hot water. It's an outward bound centre so you sleep in bunk rooms, although there are a couple of double rooms. The food is home cooked and delicious.

GETTING THERE
The Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry goes from Oban and takes 4 hours. When we know the identity of the team, there may be a chance to double up and share vehicles and costs.
Traditionally most take the Sunday morning ferry. Sunday is then a settling-in/warm-up/get to know you day. The course then starts for real on Monday morning and ends Friday evening.
THE DEAL
The course fee is £285
The HYNISH CENTRE costs
£30 per day which includes all meals including a pack lunch
This will be paid locally.
