CLINIC HEADLINES

A RUSH to the WAVES!
If you're a budding wave-sailor seeking succour, I'm afraid the clinic list makes depressing reading. All the wave courses, Kerry, Donegal and Tiree right up to October, are all full. But if you're thinking ahead, I have Mauritus in Nov/Dec and Jeri in Jan 2013, details of which will be released soon.

However those after something slightly calmer and warmer, note there are places in both Dahab in March and Rhodes in June. All details across the page. Both venues are ideal for general skills

PRIVATE GROUPS
IWith the economy the way it is, I'm getting more and more calls for private one and day 2 courses at home.
The cost is £350 per day, which you can split between up to 6 mates.
It's a WHOLE day including video playback/analysis and time for a pub dinner!

DAHAB with NEILSON - general skills

18-25 March 2012
dahab
We had such a good time last year as guests of Nelson that I have no choice but to return. Late March is great time in Dahab. In 2011 we had 7 out of 7 days of wind and had pretty much the whole place to ourselves. The Neilson centre is awash not only with the latest Tush,. Starboard and RRD gear but also SUPs, mountain bikes, canoes - there's also tennis and yoga alll INCLUDED in the basic price which at £959 including clinic and half board is EXTRAORDINARY! It filled up very quickly last year so don't miss out.
Minimum standard - planing in the harness

KERRY - Ireland (Brandon Bay) - wave sailing FULL sorry

An infected knee forced me to stay at home during last years clinic which in my absence enjoyed 14 out 14 days of wind and epic waves.c waves. I am therfore ITCHING to return in 2012! I do bang on about the Dingle peninsula but it is SO good for all standads of wave saillor (and free-rider) that it is worth banging on about. Wind, waves, beauty, warm people and good pub is a hellava combination. Once again we have secured excellent houses for rent on the Maharees at a v good price, wghich includes free use of surfboards and SUPs..

Once again, I'm running two weeks back to back. Quite a few do both weeks to maximise the chance of good conditions but that is optional. I treat the weeks as separate courses. On wave courses some worry it will be an endless 'rinse-fest' - far from it. Although it's fun (and necessary) to be forced out of your comfort zone every now and then, people actually learn far more in conditions they're happy in and feel like attacking. Hence we really mix it up. And given that most erros in wave-sailing have their root in something pretty basic, we even retreat to flat water every now and then to work on the skills.

RHODES (Ialysos) GREECE - general sklls 4 places left
13-20 June 12
Rhodes
Great wind record, beautiful sailing area with solid side shore winds AND a really friendly comfortable hotel right on site - Illyasos on the north west tip of Rhodes is perfection for holidaying windsurfers. On site you have the highly professional 'Pro Centre' with the latest JP and North kit and a throbbing local town. All boxes are ticked! It's a sailing area that suits just about everybody so the required sandard is only - planing in the harness.
Also great for families and non windsurfing partners. .

DONEGAL (ireland) - general skills and waves. FULL sorry
16-20 Sept 2012
donegal
Now in its 23rd year my trip to Donegal is surely the longest running windsurfing course in history. It's also proving to be my most popu;ar. The word is out about the staggering beauty of the placel and the warmth of the welcome. The windsurfing is sublime. It offers some of the best waves in Europe AND free-ride bays arguably flatter and better than the Red Sea. We get a fabulous deal from the Loch Altan Hotel. In short there's nothing not to like
Required standard. Sailing a sub 100 ltr board on the sea - 100% waterstarter .

DONEGAL (ireland) - general skills and waves FULL sorry
23-27 Sept 2012
donegal
I run two courses more or less back to back. There's no difference in content or required standard. If you're worried about the wave thing, rest assured that given the conditions, every day I'll run a wave and a flat water session. II should also add that the social side of this trip is legendary. Our local host Brendan Hone puts together atour of only the finest local hosteleries and even oganises a bus!
Required standard. Sailing a sub 100 ltr board on the sea - 100% waterstarter !

TIREE (Scotland) - Learn/improve wave-sailing -FULL sorry
1-5 October 2012
Tiree
The UK's Hawaii is indeed an apt description for this tiny Scotitish Isle. 9 glorious beaches punctuate its immaculate coastline ortiented to ctach any direction of wind and swell - there really is no better place to get into windsurfing. As well as being the windiest, Tiree is also the sunniest place in the UK - and being caressed by the Gulf Stream, it is not that cold. We stay at the Hynish Centre of £40 a day inluding ALL meals, so it's also fantastic value.
