CLINIC HEADLINES

JERI 2011 now booking
I salivate unashamedly at the very mention of Jeri in Brazil - it's SO good that words fail me. Pictures do a better job so check out the video opposite.
Note this does fill up quickly and there is AN EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT.

Extra course in Donegal
(But just one in Tiree - sorry...)
It seems the word is out about beautiful Donegal. The first course filled up immediately so a result I'm running a SECOND Donegal course just before. See opposite for details.
I hiinted that due to popular demand I may ALSO run a second Tiree course. Sadly it looks ever more unlikely as due to half terms I can't move the Dahab dates

DAHAB and MAURITIUS booking now
The autumn Dahab and Mauritius dates are now set for 12-20 October. Great prices - note too this year we have negotiated FULL board in the Indian Resort Hotel.

PRIVATE GROUPS
I'm based on the south coast and, contrary to popular opinion, do actually spend quite a lot of time in the UK. So if you and a group of mates, feel like some spontaneous tuition in any area of performance, mail me on harty@peter-hart.com and we can form a strategy.

THE 2010 CLINIC TOUR

WEST WITTERING Ladies Day (aka 'Birds on Boards')
1 Sept 10
women
Blessed with natural balance, agility, lightness and a willingness to listen to instructions, women make very natural windsurfers. Often, however, they learn at a different pace and with a different attitude to blokes - more consideration, less testosterone. Hence flourish in an unpressured, single-sex company. On the course ‘I'll home in on the crucial issues such as kit selection and tuning AND on easier ways to exploit their superior balance and agility. The inaugural 'Birds on Boards (a title invented by the girls NOT me!) was super chilled and their progress astonishing)
Standard: happy planing in the harness

WEST WITTERING - Slicker Corners (tacks and gybes)
6-7 Sept
gybe
Whether looking to plane out of the carve gybes or get round any way any how, the fundamentals on or off the plane, remain the same. Having PH strip your moves down to their bare essentials not only helps you approach all corners with more time, space and knowledge but will have a knockon effect on your whole sailing. West Witt's low tide lagoon, with iits waist deep water and sandy bottom, matches Dahab's Baby Bay for training perfection.
Minimum standard. Planing in the straps and harness

WEST WITTERING - Jump and Loop (one day course, 2 day window)
15-16 Sept
Loop
This one day course is all about learniing to get comfortable in the air with the ultimate aim of pulling the trigger and dipping into that first forward loop. Don't be put off by the thought of being surrounded by scarred. hard-core wave heads! The standard is NOT wildly high. If you just want to focus on jumping, that's fine. But if you declare a will to go for it, you WILL be pushed! Reluctance to go for the loop often stems from lack of control on approach and take-off. It's therefore an excuse to look at all aspects of your sailing.
Standard: sailing a sub 100 ltr board on open sea. 100% waterstarts

DONEGAL - general skills FULL SORRY
22-25 September
donegal
It's the longest running of all the PH Mastercllasses - 21 years. The reason for this loyaltyis i simply because I love the place. It's been spared the cruel hand of the developers and the beaches remain as idyllic as ever. We have a jewel of a local organiser in the shape of Brendan Hone who putd together a legendary social program.Popular demand means this year I'm running 2 back to back courses.
Minimum standard. 100% waterstarting and sailing sub 120 litre board on the sea.

DONEGAL - general skills and waves FULL SORRY
27 Sept - 1 Oct
donegal
The second course in Donegal is essentially th same as above but with a greater accent on wave-saiiling. If you're not into the waves then fear not as we traditionally do 2 sessions a day - one in the lumps and one in the flat.
Minimum standard. 100% waterstarting and sailing sub 120 litre board on the sea

TIREE - learn and improve wave-sailing FULL SORRY
4-8 October 2010
tiree
With 9 white sand beaches all facing different directions within a few miles of each othe, Tiree is a tailor-made wave-sailing heaven. It also happens to be both the sunniest and windiest place in Britain Not for nothing has it played host to premier national and international wave events. As a place to teach it is second to none as you invariably find whatever conditions you want be it for jumping riding, or just free-riding. With great deals on the ferry and at the Hynish Centre, it is also the best value clinic of the year.
Minimum standard: Planing on the sea on a sub 100 ltr board and happt swiiming in and under breaking waves.

DAHAB - general skills - 5 places left
12-20 October
dahab
Just as the UK weather starts to turn truly wintery, warm the bones and take the manoeuvres to a new level at arguably the best training ground on the planet. Dahab needs little introduction. In my opinion it's comfortably the best of the Red Sea resort. There's a thriving yet laiid-back scene. The hilton is class act with great food and a taste true luxury. And as for the Club Mistra, they just can't do enough for us.
Minimum standard. Planing in the straps and harness.

MAURITIUS - gen skills and waves
21 Nov - 1 Dec
Mauritius
Now in its 6th year on the PH Masterclass schedule, Mauritus has proven itself as a dream venue for windies AND their non-watery partners. I love it for variety and the fact that it offers so much to such a variety of standards. There are waves for ALL standards and a flat water lagoon for those keener to keep their feet on the ground and crack that turning round issue. The Indian Resort is classy with loads of facilities, tennis spas, diving, bike, gym, 3 restaurants. IT'S ACTUALLY BETTER THAT IT LOOKS!
Minimum standard: planing in straps and harness on sub 120 litre board. , .

JERICOACOARA (Brazil) gen skills and waves
Watch video -
8-18 Jan 2011
jeri
I run out of superlatives trying to describe the phenomenon that is 'Jeri'. For a start there is no better way to combat the post-Christmas Blues. Imagine, as others in the UK battle through sleet and freezing fog in the dark to get to work, you launch onto blood temperature water, and plane in a sideshore wind, towards smooth, beautifully formed but non-life-threatening waves. Jeri is the windy dream - not just on account of the conditions that suit free-rider, freestyler and aspirant wave-sailor alike, but also because it takes 'laid-back' and relaxing to new levels. Great accom, great food, great place.
Minimum standard: 100% waterstart, sailing sub 110 litre board on the open sea.
